Poetica’s Poetic Sea
a poetic sea filled with poetic thoughtsArchive for me
Stay Awhile
stay awhile
in this hearth and home
this heart place
we created
the place of sunshine and smiles
my soft touch on the back of your neck
your fingers gliding across my lips
the pillowfight we had that left
feathers peeking out from the oddest places
the comfortable silence sitting between us
because we knew each other
even without speaking
stay awhile
and tell me a story
about your life
before me
any tale
of funny things
of sad moments
of past love savoured
of dreams in the night
of the little hopes you told no one about
of the silly and strange in any thing
stay awhile
and stretch your body out next to mine
and let us warm ourselves
through each other’s warmth
stay awhile
with
me.

Pieces of Me
picking up the pieces
and putting them down again
picking up the pieces
and putting them down again
how do i begin again?
where do i begin again?
why do i begin again?
my life is filled with questions
and right when i finally
line up the answers to fit
someone changes the questions again
there are so many people
who never need to question
there are so many people
who know where they’re going
there are so many people
who never hunger for more
there are so many people
who say it’s enough
and it’s better the evil that you know
the questions haunt me in so many ways
when i sleep
they infiltrate my dreams
when i can’t sleep
they invade my mind
i want
all i know is that i want
nothing complicated
nothing rich
just that elusive inner peace
for more than a fleeting moment
i want
oh how i want
and this wanting never ends
i want
to pick up the pieces
for the last time.
